  • Rangers vs Congo United. Congo won 1-0

Afc Leopards piled more misery on KPL champions Ulinzi winning 1-0 at Nakuru's Afraha Stadium.

With three matches played in the league, Ulinzi are yet to win a single match and now have one point from three fixtures.

Leopards scored the all-important goal in the 54th minute through Evans Wandera who displaced his markers to put the ball into an empty net.

In Awendo, Sony retained all six points after stopping visiting Chemelil Sugar 2-1. Goals from Isiah Omondi and Joshua Onyango were enough to see Sony win the match. Victor Omondi scored for Chemelil.

In Nairobi, Congo United picked a crucial point after holding Rangers to a barren draw at Nyayo Stadium.

The visitors enjoyed great possession in both halves of the match but were lacking in ideas infront of goal . Rama Salim and Mohammed Aziz both hit the post in the first half in some of the dangerous moves made by Congo.

The closest however for the visitors was in the 30th minute when Mohammed Aziz beat Hashim Mukhwana in Rangers defence but failed to score with only Lawrence Webo in goal to beat.

Rangers should have finished the first half one goal up but Joseph Nyagah failed to convert a clear chance in the 42nd minute. The move had started with Edward Kauka whose hard shot was stopped by Evans Omondi in Congo's goal Omondi failed to hold onto the ball and an advancing Nyaga should just have tapped the ball home instead he shot into the waiting hands of the Congo custodian.

Rangers coach David Ouma said he was dissapointed by the result especially coming a week after his team went down 3-1 to AFC Leopards . "Congo held on well and were determined to get a point from the match which they did with a defensive approach.

My players were not calm and appeared to be in a hurry to score. It is something that we have to work on going forward in our next game," he said.

Gideon Ochieng who handles Congo said his tactic worked and has no regrets for closing the game but believes his team should have been given atleast a penalty.

"It is good to get a draw away and we are planning to start winning at home. My boys are getting better with every game," he said.

At City Stadium, KCB hit Nairobi City Stars 2-0.  Job Omosse scored first in the 4th minute before Benjamin Chaka added another one at the end of normal time.
