Eight matches to usher new KBF season

Eight matches in the Premier and Division One are lined up for action on day one of the 2013 Kenya Basketball Federation, KBF, season which is expected to kick off on March 23.

As per the provisional fixtures released by KBF, men defending champions Co-operative Bank will begin their title defense against Thunder at the Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium.

The bankers were crowned champions in December after overcoming USIU Tigers 2-1 in the playoffs final. The other matches in the men premier will see Mennonites play Blazers while Kenya Ports Authority, KPA, will play host to Kakamega based Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, MMUST.

In women premier, Co-operative Bank will open its account with a match against Safe Spaces while NYTA-Shimba will welcome Western Delight in Mombasa.

Kenya College of Accountancy- University will battle it out with Storms in the third match of the category.

Action in Division One will see related university side Terror begin life in the lower tier with a tricky assignment against Umoja with Little Prince playing Kenya Airports Authority, KAA.

Collated Fixtures: Div 1- KAA vs Little Prince (9am), Umoja vs Terror (10:30am); Women Premier- Co-op Bank vs Safe Spaces (12:00pm), Storms vs KCA - University (1:30pm), NYTA-Shimba vs Western Delight (2:00pm); Men Premier- Mennonites vs Blazers (3:00pm), Thunder vs Co-op Bank (4:30pm); KPA vs MMUST (4:00pm).
