Only four foreign-based players have been drafted into Harambee Stars squad for their maiden appearance in the Cosafa Cup slated for Zambia early next month.

Controversial striker Jamal Mohammed (Al Nasr, Oman), who has lately been on the news for good and bad reasons, South Africa duo of David Gateri and Brian Mandela, Jockins Atudo (Azam, Tanzania) and the Sweden-based Johanna Omollo have all been named in Adel Amrouche’s 22-man squad.

Notable absentees in the teams are newly appointed captain Victor Wanyama, deposed skipper Dennis Oliech and first choice goalkeeper Arnold Origi.

Amrouche’s squad also includes AFC Leopards rookie player David Seda, Bandari’s Ali Bhai, John Mwangi of Mathare United and Gor Mahia midfielder Anthony Akumu, who has been recalled after missing Harambbe Stars 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Malawi.

The Confederations of Southern Africa Football Association regional tournament will hosted by Zambia between July 6-20.
