Ghana midfielder Suleiman Ali Muntari is confident the team will win their group as the race for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations finals continue this weekend.

The Black Stars play away to Congo Brazaville on Sunday in a must win match. The team is camping in Nairobi ahead of their tie.

Muntari who is rushing against time to be fit for the match said: “We have started the competition well by collecting four points from two matches. We intend to continue with the good performance as we play away to Congo on Sunday.”

The team has been training at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani which is still under renovation.

Muntari who also spoke on Ghana’s failed bid to qualify for the semi-finals of last year’s World Cup said this is now behind them and they are looking forward to better things in future.

“This is football and what happened. We are not thinking about as we have put it behind us. All the players are focused on what lies ahead of us,” he said.

Ghana missed by a whisker from qualifying for the semi-finals of the World Cup after they lost in the quarterfinals on post-match penalties.

Regarding his future, Muntari who is on loan at English Premier League side Sunderland said he has not decided whether to go back to Inter Milan after the loan spell.

“I have eight weeks to go before the loan move to Sunderland expires. After that I will decide what to do. I have the options of going back to Italy or making the loan move permanent.

I am enjoying myself in England and nothing has changed for me because I have played here before for the same team and so for me it is just like going back home,” he said.

Ghana leave Nairobi on Saturday.
