Green Sharks are confident of finishing among the top two teams at the end of the first leg of the Kenya Hockey Union men's Premier League.

For this dream to be realized, Ben Owaga, the team's coach said they must beat Kenyatta University by capitalizing on any mistakes on Saturday at the City Park Stadium..

The students have not won in five matches but Owaga acknowledges the Thika Road side is a good side.

“Every player in my team is as good as the other and probably we will field the best. We are all ready for a win,” Owaga stated.

Green Sharks are third on the table and a win on Saturday could see them climb to second, one point ahead of second-placed Butali Sugar Warriors. Kenyatta University are 12th, 16 points below their opponents.

The students boast of one of the best strikers this season Lawrence Makhatsa who has scored six goals.

Green Sharks will highly rely on their offensive trio of Kenyan International Chris Wokila, Alex Kubasu and danger man Chris Muchwanju who has scored eight goals.

Midfielder Victor Osiche is also expected to offer more options in the attack from his offensive midfield role.

Kenyatta University are facing a major setback according to tactician Simon Mwangi. “We haven’t trained together since many of our players are not around due to the holidays,” he explained.

But, Mwangi quickly added this won’t be an excuse for any result after the match.

Meanwhile, Western Jaguars will host USIU-A on Saturday in a another men’s Premier League match in Kakamega .

“It isn’t an easy task to get a point from Kakamega, but we will do all we can,” said Neville Mulupi the USIU-A defender.

The students are expected to start with Kenyan International shot stopper Linus Kipkemboi and will highly rely on their lethal striker Brayan Kiplimo and Victor Chidi in attack.

The Thika Road-based side will be without defender Polycarp Otieno who is suspended.
