Harambee stars to play Nigeria in Abuja

Harambee Stars have landed a friendly match against Nigeria later this month.

The match will be played in Abuja on March 29 to mark the FIFA friendly day.

According to Football Kenya technical committee chairman Hussein Swaleh their hosts are paying for air-tickets, accommodation and internal expenses for the team while in Nigeria.

“We have already sent the list of players to travel to Abuja for ticketing purposes. The team will depart for Abuja on Sunday March 27,” he said.

The departure date is just one day after Harambee Stars will have played Angola in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Nairobi.

This is just the second high profile match for Harambee Stars who last month played South Africa on February 17 to mark the first Fifa day this year.

The team failed to get a friendly match ahead of their March 26 clash against Angola and may now use the up-coming match to prepare for future matches.

In the meantime Ghana arrive in Nairobi on Monday morning for a one-week training camp ahead of their match against Congo Brazaville next weekend.

Ghana coach has named 22 local players for the training camp.  The team will be joined later by their professional based .
