KCB fires coach James Omondi as club seeks to rebuild

Premier league side Kenya Commercial Bank,KCB joined the growing list of teams to part ways with their coaching staff following he conclusion of the season a fortnight ago.

The club on Tuesday confirmed that it was seeking possible replacements for the head coach James Omondi and his assistant Peter Ambetsa who were relieved off their duties.

Despite a stable financial backing KCB FC which joined the league in 1999 have always been very perennial early challengers for the title but fail to keep up the pressure for the remainder of the season.

Last year the team finished 9th dropped one position this season, and were 21 positions adrift the champions Tusker.

“The team has initiated a thorough recruitment process as it seeks to rebuild the team ahead of the next season,”said the statement from KCB.

The sacking comes barely a week after AFC leopards fired its entire technical bench led by Dutchman Jan Koops.
