Kenya drop to playoff after narrow loss to New Zealand

New Zealand substitute Andrew Knewstabb scored and converted his try for a narrow 14-12 win to proceed to the cup quarter fianl in a tough quarter final match against Kenya.

Dylan Collier scored the first try in the second minute and Victor Koroi converted for a 7-0 lead. Two minutes later, Eden Agero replied for Kenya and Sam Oliech converted to level 7-7.

Oliech then broke the deadlock with a try which he failed to convert as the lead changed hands 12-7 in Kenya's favor.

At the start of the second half, coach Innocent Simiyu brought on Frank Wanyama and New Zealand also introduced Sam Dickson. 

Kenya held on until the clock turned red before Knewstubb who came on at the same time as Brian Tanga scored and converted the winning try.

In the other quarter final matches, South Africa overran Samoa 26-10 while Fiji defeated Scotland 35-24 while England edged out Australia 26-19 to reach the semis.
