Kenya Prisons a step away from Worlds

Kenya Prisons will play GPS Petroliers from Algeria in the Confederation of African Volleyball women's club championship finals in Madagascar.

The four times Africa champions kept alive their dream to participate in the 2013 FIVB World club championship when they sailed to the CAVB finals championships on Wednesday and wil be looking to avenge a pool defeat to the  favoured Algerian side.

The winner of the match will qualify for the FIVB world club championships which will be hosted in the Swiss city of Zurich for the first time from October 8-13 this year.

FIVB on wednesday also confirmed Brazil as hosts of the men's world club tourney from October 15-20. 

Prisons booked the final place after an easy win over Algeria, Bejaia whom they beat by straight sets of (25-116, 25-15, 25-23).

The defending champions were did not take any chances against their opponents after falling to GSP Petroliers in their last group match.

Prisons booked their semi final berth after beating another Kenyan representative, Kenya Pipeline in the quarters.

The wardresses will rely heavily on their experienced players who also feature for the national team led by captain centers Diana Khisa and Brackcides Agala, libero Loice Tarus and setter Jane Wacu.

Petrolier beat Al Ahly 3-0 (25-23,25-22-25-18) and coach David Lung'aho knows the North Africans will be a formidable opposition.
