Several players have welcomed the re-appointment of Geoffrey Kimani as the Kenya 7's Strength and Conditioning coach for the coming season.

Andrew Amonde, the Kenya 7's captain said the appointment should be complimented with earlier preparations. "He knows the team and players well but we need to start preparations very early," Amonde urged.

Kimani was incharge when Kenya won their first final in Singapore last season. He was swept aside when the technical bench was fired by KRU at the end of that season and replaced by Ian Gibbons who also resigned.

He was snapped up by Uganda for a short stint.

The announcement of Kimani, an IAAF Level 4 Sprints Coach and a World Rugby S&C Educator is one of the changes made by the Kenya Rugby Union. "Back to a new familiar challenge..S&C Coach Kenya Sevens Rugby. Great to be back home and serve my country," Kimani posted on his twitter handle.

William Webster who was a Performance Analyst has been elevated to the position of an Assistant coach. This effectively changes the line up which had Humphrey Kayange marked for the post in an niterview with Innocent Simiyu during the season.

Amonde weighed in and said Webster has been with the team for a season and grasped the nitty gritty of what is required. A former Kenya coach,  Vuyo Zangqa has been snapped by Germany.

Elsewhere, Joshua Chisanga and Darwin Mukidza have made it to the Rugby Africa Gold Cup XV which is dominated by players from Namibia.

Three Ugandans Philip Wokorach (15), Michael Wokorach (13) and Brian Odongo (3). Namibia has eight payers and Zimbabwe two.
