The relationship between Kenya Premier League, KPL, Football Kenya Federation, FKF, and the league sponsors, East Africa Breweries, EABL, could get frosty after KPL/FKL banned sale and consumption of Alcohol in all Stadia during the league matches.

FKL/KPL Joint Executive Committee and FKL National super League club chairmen sent the directive to KPL club chairmen.

“Both FKF and KPL previously made a policy decision in the FKL/KPL joint executive meeting that for security reasons, alcohol beverage cannot be taken into or sold or consumed in our Stadia during football matches.”

The statement directs all home clubs to ensure that no alcoholic beverage finds its way anywhere around the stadium presincts.

"As part of their match security arrangement, all host clubs must ensure that proper arrangements are made at the entrance to ensure no alcohol beverages are brought into the stadium. Anyone who attempts to do so shall be barred from entering the stadium .FKL strongly supports the policy that which remain in force and must be respected for all matches organized or authorized by FKF."

It is a reasonable move especially to curb hooliganism however Tusker, the league sponsors may not take it lightly. EABL are yet to react to the directive.
