Nyandigisi to captain Impala squad to Singapore

Captain Tony Nyandigisi is the notable inclusion in the Impala RFCs team to the 2012 Singapore Cricket Club International Rugby Sevens tournament to be held between November 2-4.

The list of travelling players was released on Monday prior to their Tuesday departure and features other key regulars like Davis Makori, Duncan Ekasi, Anthony Oyugi and Richard Sidindi who were all instrumental in the just concluded 2012 Airtel Floodlit campaign.

With the 2012/13 Kenya Cup season kicking off officially this weekend, Impala are sure to miss their opener against Nondies RFC on Saturday as they are set to return three days later.

A total of 24 teams will take part in this year’s event and will feature among others the French national 7s side, Davatalevu from Fiji, Australia's Randwick, Ponsonby from New Zealand as well as defending champions HSBC Penguins.

The tourney is held every year and has since transformed to become one of the oldest and successful rugby tournaments across the world.
