With winners of the 2012 Kenyan Premier League likely to be determined at three different venues, SuperSport will air live two of the three matches involving the title contenders.

Sportsnewsarena.com has established that the Gor Mahia versus Thika United match at City Stadium will be aired on SuperSport 9, while the match between Nairobi City Stars will be live on SuperSport 9 East.

However, AFC Leopards fans will not be able match their team playing against Chemelil Sugar at the latter’s home ground in Chemelil.

SuperSport Event Manager, Farida Limo told sportsnewsarena.com that due limitation in satellite capacity only the two matches will be screened live.

“We only have two OB (Outside Broadcast) vans at our disposal at the moment, so it will not be possible to screen all the three matches live.

But we will have our crew on the ground to record the match in Chemelil”, Limo said.

Going into the final match day, the three teams are in a neck-to-neck race only separated by a single point.

Gor leads the table with 58 points followed by Tusker and AFC Leopards, who are tied on 57 points. All matches will kick off simultaneously at 3 pm at all the venues.

Limo termed the soon to be concluded campaign as a mile stone season for the broadcast right holders based on the account of the number of the matches that were covered.

“This year has been a great success for us.We aired more than 100 matches live which was over and above our coverage in the previous two seasons”, she said.

On the argument that matches involving Gor and Leopards get the most coverage, Limo clarified that SuperSport only acts on the guidelines from KPL on the coverage of matches.

Limo also lauded East Africa Breweries Limited’s (EABL) Sh70 million sponsorship saying that it was a major plus for the league.
