Raila boost Gor's kitty ahead of Maputo trip

Gor Mahia received a financial boost Thursday from the Prime minister Raila Odinga of Ksh. 500,000 ahead of their trip to Maputo for the CAF confederations Cup tie against Ferroviaro De Maputo of Mozambique’s on Saturday.

Raila who is the club's patron urged K'ogalo to do their best in Maputo adding that club will receive an additional Ksh. 1million if they win the first leg match.

Club Captain, Jerim Onyango who received the chaque from the PM said that the money will boost the moral in camp “This is a great motivator.

Players are motivated by the PM's gesture and i can promise our fans that we will give our best. I know we will win," said the captain.

Raila who hosted the players to breakfastr urged Kenyans to embrace sports adding with good preparation and commitment, Kenya can be a force in African football.

"Zambia came from the blues to win the Africa cup of nation cup, the game of football is not entirely about physical fitness but also, purpose, team work and commitment.” said the Premier.

Gor Mahia departs on Friday for Mozambique where they will play in their first leg of the CAF champions League match against Ferroviaro.

On Wednesday, Gor received Ksh. 400,000 from Mumia Sugar CEO, Evans Kidero.
