This year's Safari Sevens has been postponed.

A statement from the Kenya Rugby Union read:

The Kenya Rugby Union has regrettably arrived at the decision to postpone this year's Safari Sevens which was set for 3 November 2017 at the RFUEA ground.

Planning and preparations were at an advanced stage but, after considering alternative dates and, after consultations with both internal and external stakeholders as a result of mounting challenges and uncertainty in the prevailing political climate, the Local Organizing Committee have advised the KRU Board it would be prudent to postpone the event.

Teams participating in the event included the Fiji Barracudas, Germany, Zimbabwe, Western Province, Uganda and our very own Shujaa.

The Safari Sevens was scheduled to return to the home of Kenyan rugby on Ngong Road, for the first time since 2010.

Fans and sponsors were all extremely excited at this move and it promised to crown a highly successful rugby season.
