Tearse words by Dennis Ombachi at half time did little to inspire a woeful Kenya Sevens team against Argentina.

In the huddle, Ombachi said: “Look at yourselves! We are winning this game. If you don’t wanna play go home.”

Kenya trailed 0-5 at halftime but went ahead from a converted try by Nelson Oyoo.

But, Gaston Revol kicked over the advancing Kenyan backs and chased to score near the posts and convert for a 12-7 win.

Kenya will now play Russia.

At the start of the match, Argentina’s kick did not go the distance handing possession to Kenya.

Intense pressure by Kenya on the slippery ground saw a pass by Andrew Amonde intercepted but Kenya regained possession after Argentina knocked on.

Then Bush Mwale broke through but his pass to Oyoo was adjudged to have gone forward by the referee Pierre Brousset.

Loutaro Valez opened the scores for France after Eden Agero missed a tackle. At the re-start, Ombachi plucked the ball from the air but Kenya were penalised for holding on.

In the second half, Franco Sabato spotted nobody at home and kicked a grubber. He was chased by Ombachi who denied him a precise tamed second grubber kick.

Augustine Lugonzo was then yellow-carded for tackling Gaston Revol in the air. Argentina attacked relentlessly but Billy Odhiambo broke through from his try line but the chance went begging.

The numerical advantage by Argentina favored Kenya when Agero quickly took a penalty and sey Oyoo for the try line. Then Revol scored the winner.

With 45 seconds left, Kenya had a chance to hit back after being awarded a penalty but from the offensive lost possession after a forward pass.

Argentina won the ensuing scrum down and kicked the ball out for their 25th win over Kenya.
