Four seasoned coached will spearhead the hunt for Kenya’s top four outstanding players for the inaugural Airtel Rising Star finals to join Manchester United soccer camp at the end of this year.

The team will be lead by former Harambee Stars coach, Jacob ‘Ghost’Mulee and will be assisted by Twahir Muhidin also a one time Stars tactician, AFC Leopards assistant coach, Micky Weche and Ministry of Youth and Sports MOYAS coach, Florence Adhiambo.

The four coaches will identify two under 17 years boys and two girls in the finals which kicks off on Tuesday next week at Moi Forces Academy in Nairobi. Mulee has had a similar experience in the past as he was part of the panel that selected Kenya youths who attended a soccer clinic in Brazil in 2008.

Airtel took over the sponsorship of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association KSSSA games from Brookside dairy for the next three years. According to Airtel Head of Public relations and Communications, Dick Omondi, discipline and leadership capabilities of participants will be key factor, which the judges will be looking for apart from their football expertise.

This year’s final will be different from the previous events as fans will have the opportunity to watch all matches  at one venue. Western Province will be the first to arrive in Nairobi on Saturday with the bulk of teams expected on Sunday according to KSSSA Secretary, Nairobi Branch, Moses Mbuthia.

The best two finishers in each competition will represent the country in the East Africa Secondary Schools Ball Games that runs from August 26-September 1 in Mbarara, Uganda at the Mbarara stadium and Ntare school.
