14 golfers drawn from Nyeri, Nanyuki and Nyahururu have booked themselves a slot in the forthcoming Barclays Bank of Kenya Golf Circuit grand finale.

The team of 14 amateur golfers managed to book their slots following the second round of the ongoing Barclays Golf Circuit tourney staged at the Nyeri Golf Club-the second oldest golf club in Kenya- last weekend.

On Saturday, upcoming golfer Peter Maina playing off handicap 15, picked the winners title after posting a total of 41 stable ford points. Amidst stiff competition from a strong force drawn from Nanyuki, Maina, emerged the winner a clear four points ahead of second placed Baldev Singh who cleared the course with 37 points.

To win the title, Maina managed a strong first nine with 21 points before slowing down on the second nine with 20 points as veteran Nyeri Golfer Baldev Singh struggled to snatch the title to no avail.

Following the Nyeri tournament the forthcoming third round will be staged at Eldoret Club on November 17.

The Barclays Golf Circuit that teed off on 3rd November 2012 will be played in 13 rounds with 25 participating golf clubs countrywide with 2,400 golfers expected to participate.

As part of a commitment to develop budding talent, the Circuit is also open to junior golfers with official handicaps.

The circuit provides amateur Golfers with a chance to qualify for the circuit’s grand finale where the top 20 winners will be picked to play in the Barclays Kenya Open Pro Am 2013.

The pro-am is a dream for any amateur Golfer where they get an opportunity to play with mainly top European professionals that grace the Barclays Kenya Open.
