• Co-op Bank Start Season with Narrow Win

 Champions Co-Operative Bank of Kenya started their title defence of the Kenya Basketball Federation diadem with a narrow 68-27 win over Ulinzi Warriors at the Nyayo National stadium on Sunday.

The champions trailed 11-16 in the first quarter and were 27-33 down at half time. 

Eugene Genga had 16 points and Peter Kiganya scored 12 points. Anset Wafula was the top scorer for Ulinzi with 18 points while Victor Odendo had 16.

Predators were 43-38 winners over Kenya College of Accountancy.Lucy Muchuma scored 10 points and Linda Kimemia 20.

In another women’s match, regular campaigners and former champions Eagles’ Wings overran Kenya Polytechnic 102-53. They led 53-12 at half time. Caroline Ochieng top scored with 19 points. Other top scorers were Angela Okoth (16), Janet Okoth (16), Brigit Nanzala (14) and Naomi Kiogora (14).

Blazers have been relegated to division one.
