Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has directed AFC Leopards officials embroiled in leadership wrangles to withdraw all matters before the courts and refer them to FKF's Independent Appeals Tribunal.

FKF chairman, Sam Nyamweya believes that with the recent ratification of the federation's constitution, all football related disputes in the country should now be channeled to the Arbitration Tribunal led by Sharad Rao who will resolve any matter brought before them as courts do not have the Jurisdiction to rule over the matters.

“We have a local sports arbitration tribunal under NOCK led by renowned lawyer  which is internationally recognised by all Kenya sports disciplines. But first the Clubs must bring any dispute to FKF Independent Appeals Tribunal who will make a ruling,” said Nyamweya.

"We have noted with concern the current state of affairs that have brought confusion in AFC Leopards leadership where some individuals have taken over the leadership of the club by obtaining court orders thus violating the FIFA statutes," added the FKF chair.

Nyamweya in a statement released friday said that the federation  will not allow coups on any elected club officials, maintaining that  the Federation will continue to recognise the current AFC Leopards officials until elections are held in June.

"Those trying to take over the reins of the club through the courts must first go through the Arbitration process."

Recently a court ordered the current AFC Leopards officials to stop acting on behalf of the club until elections are held after Sammy Aina, an aspirant for the national office moved to court to challenge the legality of the office.

Former  AFC Leopards players including Peter Lichungu, Mohammed Abbas, George Sunguti, Tony Lidonde and Justus Muhati have also urged the waring faction opposing the current Chairman Alex Ole Magelo to refer the matter to the federation's Tribunal.
