• Kenya Face Morocco In Bulawayo

The men’s national hockey team plays Morocco today in their fourth match in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

These Olympic qualifiers which also coincide with the All Africa games will see the winner automatically qualify for the Olympics with the runners up facing off with other teams from the world to qualify.

In their opening match, Kenya were held to a 2-2 draw by Ghana and were two minutes away from beating rivals Egypt before conceding a goal. The teams drew 3-3. Kenya then recovered to beat Zimbabwe 4-0.

One of the coaches Meshack Senge acknowledged Kenya which is making a comeback to international hockey after a long time showed some rust but still played well. In both matches, Kenya led but were unable to contain the Ghanian and Egyptian forwards.

Goal scorers for Kenya so far are Davis Wanangwe (2), Frank Wanangwe, Zack Aura, George Mutira and Brian Musasia. The women’s team were drubbed 10-0 by South Africa before recovering to beat Zimbabwe 2-0.
