After a month of inactivity at the international level, Kenya remained at position 117 globally and 34 in African the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings in April, a month that saw very minimal changes across the continents.

In many countries, the Premier Leagues are drawing to a close, which explains the small number of matches played at international level: only eight, all of which were friendlies, unfolded over the past month.

South Africa were the biggest gainers in Africa moving up four slots to 67 globally and 14 in the CAF rankings while Democratic Republic of Congo dropped to 39 from 34 and 129 in the world.

Overall, Spain continue to top the global ladder ahead of Germany and Uruguay, followed by the Netherlands and Portugal.

The only change in the top 30 has been Argentina’s ousting of Denmark to occupy ninth place.

The composition of the top 50 remains unchanged: with 28 teams, UEFA remains the best represented confederation in the top 50, followed by CONMEBOL (9), CAF (7), CONCACAF (3) and the AFC (3).

The June edition will undoubtedly bring more movement with it, as Harambee stars who are currently in camp will be hosting Malawi on June 2, before playing Namibia away a week later and then travel to Togo for the return leg.
