It all began with Harambee stars first choice keeper Arnold Origi calling it quits in January. Then in March

Mcdonald Mariga who is now facing several months off the pitch through injury, walked out on the national team over over air tickets refunds fiasco.

Just over a fortnight ago Oliech in a letter to the Football Kenya Federation Chairman, Sam Nyamweya ruled himself out of future stars game over the unresolved row with EABL as he sought redress through the courts and world soccer governing body, FIFA over the issue.

On Sunday, the Auxerre striker on his facebook page said he had opted to put an end to his international career to concentrate on club football.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from the national team with immediate effect. Though I feel I have not achieved the desired goals at this level on a personal and team level, it has still been an honour and absolute pleasure donning the National colours and representing my beloved country. I will therefore miss it immensely.”

Oliech, 27 who has played for the national team since 2002 scoring 31 goals indicated that he might be leaving Auxerre after a five year stint in June, but is focussed on helping the team fight relegation for now.

“In June, for three weeks I will be undergoing trials that my agent has already arranged. For the immediate future I feel that I must put all my efforts in attempting to ensure my club side can survive from being relegated this season,”added Oliech with no mention of the simmering row with EABL or whether it had prompted his decision.

Auxerre are staring relegation in the face and lie bottom of the 20 team standings.

sportsnewsarena.com was unable to reach Oliech on phone to find out whether he had communicated his decision to the local soccer officials.

Harambee stars coach Francis Kimanzi is expected back in the country from Tunis, Monday where he was with the national Under 20 women's team for its Africa qualifies for the World cup, where they lost 2-1 to the hosts(4-2 on aggregate). Tunisia will now play Ghana winners 3-0 against South Africa.
