Fredrick Odongo scored 18 points and James Mwangi 11 as Co-operative Bank beat Blazers 73-42 in the Kenya Basketball Federation men’s premier league.

Ronnie Akedi replied for Blazers with 13 points while George Makori had eight. The bankers led 37-19 at halftime.

In the women’s league, United States International University - Africa Flames led 24-6 at halftime and went on to beat Predadtors 73-20 in one of the biggest wins of the weekend.

Linda Mfuchi and Deborah Chan each scored 13 points for USIU-A Flames while Lillian Jonah and Winnie Kanani replied with six each for Predadtors.

Mennonites and Safe Spaces battled to a narrow 38-34 win for Safe Spaces. Lynette Otieno was the highest scorer with 16 and Beldina Akinyi bagged 14 for Mennonites. On Saturday, Kenya Commercial Bank Lions roared past Thunder 72-52.

Tobias Onyango scored 14 points and Victor Odendo 13 for KCB Lions. Griffin Ligare replied with 14 points for Thunder while Philip Dinga had 10. Mennonites were no match for Strathmore University women’s team losing 31-73 after trailing 18-33 at halftime.

Diana Muiya scored 16 points for the students and Beldina Akinyi had nine for Mennonites.

Sunday: KCA University 50 Upper Hill 39, Trailblazers 37 Nairobi Aviation 68, Mennonites 34 Safe Spaces 38, USIU-A Flames 73 Predators 20, Co-Operative Bank 73 Blazers 42.
