Nigerian 110m hurdler Samuel Okon is the second athlete from his country to fail a doping control test, Commonwealth Games Federation president Mike Fennell told a press conference on Tuesday.

Okon tested positive for the banned stimulant methylhexaneamine, a prohibited stimulant under category S6 of the World Anti Doping Agency list of prohibited substances and methods.

He is provisionally suspended and will attend a hearing later on Tuesday although the result of his B sample may not be available for another 24 hours. He finished seventh in Friday’s Men’s 110m hurdles final.

His compatriot, Oludamola Osayomi,  tested positive for the same banned stimulant after winning the Women’s 100m, and is suspended until the results from a second sample are known.
