Agunda sisters combine to beat Multimedia in hockey

Agunda sisters, Anita and Dorsillah scored four goals as Sliders beat Multimedia University 5-0 on Sunday at the City Park Stadium in a women’s league national premier league match.

Anita Agunda scored two goals in the 10th and 27th minutes before completing her hattrick in the 55th minute.

Her elder sister, Dorsillah scored a goal in the 50th minute two minutes after Juliet Otieno had scored the fourth goal for Sliders.

The men’s national league saw Multimedia University beat Thika Rovers 2-0 and in the only men’s Premier league match, Samuel Mucheke scored a goal in the 67th minute to enable Green Sharks beat Park Road 1-0.

On Saturday, Lucy Wanjiku scored four goals and Nancy Wanjue three as Strathmore University overran Multimedia University 12-0 in the women’s league. Wanjiku began the goal rush in the 12th minute and added three more in the 22nd, 26th and 65th minutes.

Wanjue scored in the 24th, 30th and 47th minutes. Carol Njoki got a brace in the 13th and 53rd minutes while Eva Nkatha and Damaris Namulanda added a goal each in the 69th and 70th minutes. Multimedia University conceded an own goal in the 42nd minute.

In the men’s national league, an own goal by Multimedia University in the 57th minute gifted Wazalendo Youth a vital win. University of Nairobi were deserved 3-1 winners over Parklands Sports Club

. Derrick Ouma opened the scored in the sixth minute and Andrew Murila doubled the scores in the seventh minute.

Daniel Ahenda pulled one back for Parklands Sports Club in the 18th minute before Emmanuel Nasimiyu made it 3-1 in the 26th minute.
