The team of Joseph Kimani Ndegwa, John Ngure, George Gatimu and Captain Peter Gathimba are the winners of the Dasani Golf eighth edition, held at the Kiambu Golf Club on the weekend.

The team’s aggregate score of 115 was enough to secure top slot and an opportunity to participate at the Dasani Golf Gala Grand Finale at the Muthaiga Golf Club on the 22nd of October 2010.

Ngure and Gatimu, playing off low handicaps of five and six respectively, led the winning team with scores of 41 and 40 stable ford points.

Handicap five Ndegwa, added 34 points to take team tally to 115 points. Gathimba, the only double-digit handicap golfer in the group, contributed a team low 29 points.

Speaking during the prize giving ceremony, Gathimba said the Dasani Golf Gala was not just about good golf; it was also about good teams. “These championships all about team work which boils down to choosing good teammates,” said Gathimba. “However, I will make amends at the Grand Finale and give my team something to smile about.”

The team of Geoffrey Muthua, Gaudensio Ngatho, Solomon Mugwe and Col. Julius Githire finished second with 111 points. Muthua, Mugwe and Githire all scored 37 points while Ngatho only managed 29 points.

The top player of the day, Charles Njunge Nduati fired a massive 45 points to claim the top individual score. Newton Mau was the runner up with 43 points whilst David Mathenge was third with 40 points. James Wamuti was the guest winner with 37 points.

The ninth leg of the series will played next weekend at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club for the ninth edition of Championship.
