Chase Sailors stunned Sikh Union, Nairobi 2-1 in an explosive Kenya Hockey Union, men's Premier League match at the City Park Stadium on Saturday.
The match was decided after the third quarter when one of the Chase Sailors players was given a red card.
In the 49th minute, Chase Sailors converted a penalty corner through Nixon Amadi and doubled the lead two minutes later with a goal by Douglas Nyerere.
Sikh Union, Nairobi pulled one back in the 57th minute of the fourth quarter through Inderjit Matharu.
In another match, league leaders Kenya Police squeezed a 1-0 win over the United States International University - Africa. Oliver Echenje scored the lone goal in the 36th minute.
Both teams squandered several scoring chances before Police broke the deadlock in the third quarter.
Multimedia University and the University of Nairobi shared the spoils 1-1 in the women's Premier League.
Clementine Nyongesa scored the opening goal for UoN in the 28th minute and Norah Mwangi equalized in the 42nd minute.
In the National men's league, Kevin Rono scored two goals in the 43rd and 53rd minutes and Cajestan Peter in the 55th as Impala beat Gorilla 3-0.
The tie between Mombasa Sports Club and Mvita XI in Mombasa ended in a 2-2 draw.
Scoring mood
On Sunday, Telkom Orange were in a scoring mood against the United States International University - Africa whom they beat 6-0 in the women's Premier League.
Jackline Mwangi scored two goals in the 48th and 59th minutes. Barbara Simiyu opened the scores in the 20th minute. Nine minutes later Flavia Mutiva doubled the scores for a 2-0 lead at halftime.
On resumption, Audrey Omaido scored the third goal in the 40th minute and Jane Ofula the fourth in the 42nd minute.
Earlier, Multimedia University defeated Vikings 3-1. Winnie Nyoike scored two goals in the 15th and 60th minutes for Multimedia University. Rachel Nduta had opened the scores in the seventh minute.
Sarah Bonareri replied for Vikings in the 45th minute.
Wazalendo and Park Road Badgers drew 3-3 in the men's Premier League. Ken Munalo scored a goal each in the fifth and 15th minutes for Wazalendo. Joab Malanda scored the third in the 36th minute.
Park Road Badgers replied with two goals by Andrew Kamau in the 22nd and 33rd minutes and Brian Mwangi in the third minute.
Parklands Sports Club overcame USIU-A 2-0. Newton Chumila scored the opening goal in the fourth minute and Harkani Akshe in the 35th minute.
Nakuru and KCA-U battled to a barren draw in Nakuru.
On Wednesday, Technical University of Kenya tackle Wazalendo at the City Park Stadium from 6 p.m.
