Homeboy Jaspreet “Jassi” Chatthe won the second round of Kisumu Clubman Rally Championship series after leading the Equator Motor Club organized event from start to around Chemelil region Sunday.

Navigated by Nairobi based Keith Henrie in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 contraption, Chatthe was peerless through the lush green cane fields where a three-stage loop was repeated giving crews a challenging drive on rough and occasionally smooth conditions.

"We had a good race, but the stages were quite rough and rocky. We had some fantastic fun blasting through the stages."

Second was Pavit Kenth of Nairobi followed by Kisumu’s Jitendra Dhokia while Hussein Malik of Nairobi and Nakuru’s Sham Wason tied on fourth. Malik was happy with fourth after a grueling drive in the cane fields.

“We got a puncture in CS3 and had to complete the last 7 kilometers on the flat and a burst shock but all in all were glad to have finished and get the car back home,” said Malik.

Amira Headgalz of Helen Shiri (formerly with Warembo Bila Makap) and Tuta Mionki survived the demanding terrain on their very first outing in the ex-Rashid Kabi Subaru gc8. They finished 8th overall with this being Shiri’s debut as a rally driver. Shiri has been navigating Stella Macharia for the last two years.

A three stage loop was repeated to make up a competitive mileage total of 101.88 kilometers and the liaison total of 57.92 kilometers. The competitive mileage amounted to 63.75 percent of the total distance (159 kilometers).
