Co-Operative Bank rallied from 25-28 down at half time to convincingly beat Ulinzi Warriors 61-44 in a Kenya Basketball Federation men's Premier League match on Sunday.
Brian Busu and Felix Odhiambo scored 14 and 13 points for the bankers while Richard Osano and Eric Mutoro replied for Ulinzi with 16 and 13.
In the women's league, Equity Bank edged out Zetech 38-36. In this match Mercy Wanyama (11) and Hilda Indasi (10) top-scored for the bankers. Lucy Mbithe had 10 points for Zetech. At half time, Zetech led 17-15.
USIU-A Flames narrowly led 25-23 before beating Storms 51-48. The students' top scorers were Mellisa Akinyi (16) and Jemimah Night (12).
In another match, Everlyn Itabu scored 19 points and Celia Asila 10 as Co-Operative Bank beat Strathmore University 39-30. Melvin Iminza replied with seven points for Strathmore University.They led 21-16 at halftime.
On Saturday, Ulinzi beat Strathmore University Blades 57-36. In this match, Eric Mutoro scored 14 points and Richard Osano 13 for Ulinzi while Joseph Ongoro replied with 10 points for Strathmore University Blades.
The match between Nairobi City Thunder and USIU-A Tigers went to the wire before the students won by a single point, 54-53.
The teams tied 21-21 at half time. Abel Ramzani scored 18 points and Derrick Juma 13 for USIU-A Tigers. The top scorers for Nairobi City Thunder were Abel Nson (13) and Ken Maru (11).
