Hospital Hill's dreams of a volleyball national title begins at Lenana

Former national schools volleyball champions Hospital Hill will be going for nothing short of victory as they seek to retain the Nairobi County Term 2B Kenya Secondary School Sports Association ball games which start today at Lenana school.

Hospital Hill who lost their title to Malava last year at the national level in Kakamega will be begin their campaign by first trying to bag the Nairobi ticket. They are and up against Kamukunji and Pumwani High School in pool ‘A’ matches.

The team coach, Francis Mwangi said he is looking at having a good season in their quest to reclaim the title and he will begin his campaign by giving the Nairobi games all his best.

“We are all looking at the nationals. It’s everyone’s wish that we get the ticket to the East Africa Games but first of all we will have to think of going past the Nairobi hurdle and then the Metropolitan hurdle before think of anything else. For now I am looking at a good show at Lenana. I am sure the players will give their best,” Mwangi said.

Pool ‘B’ consists of regulars Eutycus, and new entrants Embakasi Garrison and Baba Dogo. Moi Forces Academy, Embakasi’s St.Justino and Dandora Secondary will battle it out in pool ‘C’.

Former Nairobi champions Sterehe Boys Centre will lead pool ‘D’ where they will battle it out with Ofafa Jericho and Rasul Al Akram. Pool ‘E’ has Aquinas, Nairobi School and Muhuri Muchiri. Hosts Lenana will lead pool ‘F’ that also has Brain House and Academia. 

In the girls' category Nairobi county defending champions Soweto Academy also from Embakasi will be seeking to retain the title with duels against Ngara and Garden Estate.

Former champions Buruburu will face it off with Brown Hill and Our Lady of Mercy in Pool ‘B’. Pool ‘C’ consists of State House Girls, Karen ‘C’ and Dandora with Nembu Girls, Maina Wanjigi and Ushirika battle it out in pool ‘D’.

Former champions Pangani Girl will lead pool ‘E’ where they will meet Parklands Arya and Our Lady of Fatima while Nile Road Girls start their battle for county top honors against Moi Girls and Kayole South.

In football, former national champions Upper Hill will be seeking another slot to reclaim the Nairobi title with matches against Ruai Boys and Kahawa Garrison in pool ‘A’. In pool ‘B’ another former Nairobi champions Jamhuri High School will come up against St. Matthew and Makongeni with Makadara Highway Secondary, Brown Hill and Kabiro battling out in pool ‘C’.

Mogra Star will entertain Langata and Ananda Marga in pool ‘D’. Nairobi School, Eastleigh and Pumwani will fight for the honors in Pool ‘E’ while giants Olympic and Kamukunji face off with By Grace in the last pool.

In girls' action another former giant Olympic who were knocked out at the semifinals last year will be battle it out with Highridge and Nembu as they seek to reclaim the Nairobi title. Another former Nairobi queens Annointed are in pool ‘B’ alongside St. Matthew and Buruburu.

Mwangaza, Starehe and Langata will come up against former champions St. Theresa in pool ‘C’ while Maina Wanjigi, Ruai and Dagoretti Mixed battle for Pool ‘D’ honors. Kenya High School, Pumwani Girls and Watoto School will face each other in pool ‘E’ as Starehe Girls, New Jogoo Road and Our Lady of Mercy square it out in pool ‘F’.
