Joseph Ouma of Mombasa and the Nairobi duo of Geoffrey Oteky and Ben Mungai are the best three players, of the 2010 Sprite Slam Tournament.

The three, who emerged tops during the National Finals of the Sprite Slam held in Nairobi on Saturday, will represent Kenya as part of the All African Team that will receive training by an NBA coaching staff in the US at the end of the year.

The players were picked by a selection panel comprising former NBA star Steven Smith.

Earlier on, Nairobi, showed dominance in the tournament winning all their games. In the first match the hosts beat Kisumu 26-14 before seeing off Eldoret 31-17. 

Oteky scored 14 points for Nairobi, including two 3-pointers, in both matches.

Kisumu sparked an offensive burst in the opening period against Nairobi with a three-point. However, Nairobi quickly recovered and took over the scoreboard.

The Eldoret team struggled offensively in the opening 3 minutes in their match against Nairobi, only managing to score 6 points in the first quarter.After rising to 14-21 at the end of period, Nairobi started to pull away in the second quarter by drilling 6 points from the 3-point area.

In another match Mombasa beat Eldoret 24-18. Collins Kirui of Eldoret poured in 14 points for his team while Elijah Chewa sunk 8 points for Mombasa.

Nyeri, the fourth team in the tournament, lost their first match against Kisumu 18-23 before recovering to beat Mombasa 26-21 in the next match.
