Kenya and Uganda have been drawn in the same pool for this year's Africa Rugby seven-a-side tournament to be hosted by Zimbabwe on September 17-18.

The team finished 11th at the just concluded Olympics after replacing South Africa who did not travel because their Olympic Association withdrew the women's rugby team who they said did not have a chance of winning a medal.

Kenya Rugby Union confirmed they will send a team to Zimbabwe but it is not clear whether it will be the same team that went for the Olympics. On Wednesday, Sportsnews Arena exclusively reported allegations that some KRU officials had asked for money from the players for 'facilitating' their selection in the Olympic team.

At the weekend, Uganda's Lady Cranes named a provisional team of 18 for the championship.
