• Kenya Women Retain Elgon Cup

Kenya women narrowly retained the Elgon Cup by beating Uganda 15-3 at the Impala Club. The win gave Kenya an aggregate 21-18 win after losing the first leg.

The match was switched to Impala Club and fans were allowed to watch free of charge. Philadelphia Olando scored a try and Janet Awuor converted.

Uganda replied with a penalty by Christine Kizito. At half time, Kenya led 7-3. Reports reaching sportsnewsarena.com said that the first half was punctuated by fights and the referee John Bosco Muamba had to severally stop the game to cool the tempers.

In the second half, Linda Nandwa scored a try and Awuor kicked over a penalty.
