Humphrey Kayange has been named in the Kenya seven-a-side team which leaves today (Tuesday) for Glasgow, Scotland to play in the eighth tournament of the International Rugby Board Sevens World Series.

The former captain will take the place of Philip Wamae who was injured in the team's second last training session on Saturday.

Steve Sewe, the team manager said it was unfortunate that Wamae missed out after working his way into the squad. The KCB player had been sidelined for the better part of the season following an injury sustained in Dubai.

After consultation with the rest of the technical bench, Kayange was drafted in because of his experience and leadership which could be of critical importance as Kenya seeks to close the season on a high.

His inclusion means for the second time, Kenya Sevens will have three brothers in the team. Collins Injera, the team’s captain and Michael Agevi had been named in the squad to Glasgow.

When the team was named on Friday, Kayange had been left out because he was unfit.

Kenya has been drawn in a tough Pool C with Fiji, Wales and Argentina.
