Africa's representatives for the 2013 Women’s FIVB World Clubs Championships, Kenya Prisons have intensified their training ahead of the games that is expected to kick off on October 7th-14th in Zurich, Switzerland.

Prisons will miss the services of two of their dependable players who took part in the last edition held in Doha, Qatar.

Injured Loice Jepkosgei and Lydia Maiyo who reported back to training this week after a six month maternity break and the remaining two weeks are not enough to gain match fitness having sat out for close to six months.

While it is almost certain Maiyo could miss the Zurich trip, her late call up back to the squad could be a precautionary measure by coach David Lung’aho to use her to defend the national title during the November/December national play off Lung'aho is expected to name his squad next week but has reliably learnt that former Lugulu Girls alumni, Edith Wisa has forced her way into the squad.

Wisa, a gifted centre player and Esther Mwombe will make the trip to Zurich fto fill in the gapof Jepkosgei and Maiyo.

Mwombe is making a come back having missed the 2012 edition held in Doha, Qatar. Introduction of Wisa will force Blackcides Agala to move to the right to be assisted by Mwombe, a left attacker.

With the exception of Wisa and Mwombe, this is the squad that won the Africa Club Championship in Madagascar in April with only libero, Loice Tarus.

The team departs on October 6 for Zurich.
