Ham Onsando has been named as coach of the Elgon Warriors, an East African select side featuring players from the Kenyan and Ugandan national teams.

The 40-man provisional was named ahead of their fixtures against the visiting English Counties on Saturday 9 June and Saturday 16 in Kampala and Nairobi respectively.

Onsando’s assistants will be the two head coaches of Kenya and Uganda, Michael ‘Tank’ Otieno and Yayiro Kasasa.

The squad, which was selected after the recent Elgon Cup between Kenya and Uganda, features among others utility forward Dan Adongo who features for South African Super Rugby side Sharks, young Eden Agero, Humphrey Kayange, Collins Injera, long serving Ugandan international Alex Mubiru, Andrew Olweny and speedy winger Justin Kimono.

The squad is expected to be whittled down to 32 players after a build up match on Friday 1 June 2012.
