Veteran Saidi Rashid and Derrick Kuloba scored a goal in each half to steer Butali Sugar Warriors to a 2-0 win over Park Road in a midweek Kenya Hockey Union men's Premier League match at the City Park Stadium.
Park Road who defended well conceded a goal in the 29th minute by Rashid for a 1-0 lead at halftime.
On resumption, Kuloba added the second in the 43rd minute against a Park Road side who pegged their game on quick counter attacks.
Zack Aura and Vincent Odhiambo, a utility forward who was in Egypt with the national team were outstanding. Another veteran, Joseph Osino has also returned between the posts with Butali Sugar Warriors.
On Saturday, the former champions will be back to face Sikh Union, Nairobi from 4 p.m. and Chase Sailors the next day from 3 pm.
