Double World champion Vivian Cheruiyot’s spouse, Moses Kiplagat has been sued by his ex-wife Caroline Chepkorir Kwambai, a renowned athlete, for negligence and illegal acquisition of family property.
Kiplagat was on Friday arraigned at the Eldoret children’s court for allegedly failing to support his family and acquiring some of his ex-wifes’ properties without consent.
Kwambai a seasoned road racer, and former Paris and Prague half marathon champion claimed she lived with Kiplagat from November 1996 and bore him three children. Marital problems led to their separation in 2007.
“After living together for five years we started having problems because Vivian Cheruiyot came between us,” said Kwambai.
Kwambai through her lawyer Caleb Obwatinyo wants the court to order Kiplagat to assume his responsibilities which includes upkeep, paying school fees and medical bills.
Kwambai further claimed that Kiplagat illegally acquired her rental property.
“I only need my children to be catered for and my properties to be returned to me without any problems because I bought and built the rental houses with my own money not his,” insisted Kwambai.
